The service was excellent, with a thoughtful touch to cover up a minor flaw in the room. However, there were occasional issues with hot water. The dining experience consisted of prepacked items left in the room, which may not suit everyone's taste.
The hotel is conveniently located just outside the Monkbar Gate, making it ideal for exploring York. The rooms are cozy but lack proper ventilation. The service is commendable, with staff addressing issues promptly. However, the dining options could be improved, and breakfast is not as advertised. Overall, it offers good value for money.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The location was wonderful, close to major attractions like Yorkminster and the city walls, with friendly staff ready to help. However, the lack of a fan during a heatwave and the challenging climb up 6 flights of stairs were drawbacks.
